Awakening to the Rhythm of Nature

The ideal time to rise according to Ayurveda is during the Brahma Muhurta, a period of tranquility and stillness that spans from 4:00 AM to 6:00 AM. This serene time allows for a gentle transition from sleep to wakefulness, promoting calmness and mental focus.

Invigorating Practices to Begin the Day

  1. Tongue Scraping: Upon waking, gently scrape your tongue to remove ama, or toxins, that accumulate overnight. Use a tongue scraper or a soft toothbrush dipped in water.
  2. Oil Pulling: This Ayurvedic technique involves swishing a tablespoon of sesame oil or coconut oil in your mouth for 15–20 minutes. Oil pulling helps remove toxins from the mouth, promote oral health, and enhance overall well-being.

For Pitta dosha, choose cooling foods like fruits, yogurt, or smoothies. For Kapha dosha, favor lighter fare like fruits, vegetables, or whole grains.
